Description

Cs-137 sources are gamma emitters. They are applied in oil well logging to characterize rock strata during wireline logging and logging while drilling. Isotope JSC supplies Cs-137 sources of the Russian design. There is a wide variety of standard designs and activities.

Characteristics

Material: Stainless steel

Cs-137 is loaded into ceramic pellets that are later encapsulated into stainless steel components sealed by argon-arc (TIG) or laser welding.

• ISO 9978:1992;
• ISO 2919 (by durability).

They have a recommended 7-year service life.

The radioactive content and radiation output measurements stated in the product certification are traceable to national standards.
