ROSATOM took part in 8ICI (8th International Conference on Isotopes and Expo)

ROSATOM State Corporation took part in the 8th International Conference on Isotopes and Expo (8ICI) that was held in Chicago (USA) on August 24-28, 2014.

The exhibition gathered isotope products manufacturers and suppliers, representatives of medical companies, research institutes, organizations on radiation protection and environmental monitoring. The conference participants had the opportunity to see the exposition of ROSATOM State Corporation, including isotope products for medicine and industry as well as related services of FSUE "PA"MAYAK" and JSC Isotope.

The congress comprised a considerable business program that consisted of more than 300 papers and poster presentations on the production and application of isotopes in nuclear medicine, agriculture and other fields. First Deputy CEO of JSC Isotope Alexey Vakulenko made a report on production capacities of ROSATOM isotope complex. In addition, representatives of FSUE "PA "MAYAK" and JSC Isotope held business meetings with existing and potential partners.

The International Conference and Exhibition on Isotopes (ICI) is held by the World Council on Isotopes (WCI) every three years in different countries. The previous conference took place in Moscow in 2011 and was organized by ROSATOM State Corporation. This year ICI was hosted by the American Nuclear Society (ANS). Traditionally, the event consists of an exhibition and a conference that includes plenary sessions, technical sessions and poster presentations. Оver 500 experts representing business, science and medicine take part in the business program of the event. Among them are representatives of the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI); Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics; Joint Research Centre of the European Commission; the US National Institute of Standards and Technology; National Laboratories in Brookhaven, Los Alamos and Argonne, as well as representatives of the leading US and European universities.
