Since 2004 radiological threat reduction has been one of JSC Isotope's main spheres of activity in the form of international partnership. Our company works in accordance with the contracts sighed with the IAEA, authorized companies of the Global Threat Reduction Office of the US Department of Energy. We provide services in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and also in Bulgaria, Bangladesh and Lebanon.
JSC Isotope carries out the following types of services:
- Detecting unused, maintenance-free or abandoned sources of radiation (including dangerous objects);
- Inspecting objects to determine technical condition of devices and sources, to calculate the costs of work and develope a project plan for discharging the sources;
- Discharging sources of ionizing radiation, their identification and transportation for burial to specialized enterprises;
- Strengthening physical protection at the objects that continue using radiation sources.
Since 2004 more than 250 RTGs have been disassembled, more than 7000 Co-60 and Cs-137 sources have been transferred to storage.
