Review explores molecular imaging for PVD
A new review suggests imaging techniques such as PET and SPECT with a variety of tracers can be used to improve the detection of peripheral vascular disease. The authors noted a wide range of imaging agents for both modalities in their paper, published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. These scanner-tracer combinations "provide a noninvasive quantitative technique for the evaluation of the pathophysiology associated with PVD and may complement clinical indices and other imaging approaches," researchers wrote.
