Isotope Visited by Cuban Delegation
Isotope JSC (part of the Rosatom Health Technologies Division) was visited by representatives of Cuba's Isotope Center (CENTIS), including Mr. Rolando Augustin Serra Aguila, Director of Production, and Mr. Jorge Corrida Cruz Arencibia, Director of Development.
It should be reminded that since January 2024, Cuban clinics have received technetium-99m generators based on Russian molybdenum-99 and radiopharmaceuticals based on Russian iodine-131. Technetium-99m is a diagnostic isotope used to detect cardiovascular and oncological diseases; iodine-131 is a theranostic isotope used for the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases.
During the visit, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation for supplying isotope products and also signed an agreement to share necessary information aimed at joint business development.
"The development of our cooperation with the Republic of Cuba in the field of supply of isotope products is of great social and strategic importance, as it provides thousands of patients with access to high-precision diagnostic and treatment methods," said Maxim Kushnarev, Isotope Director General.
